Here is an example of a client who started from scratch with an idea and built a small,
profitable business he was passionate about.
Background
My client, Frank M., an avid hiker and hunter, routinely filled his sack with beef jerky to spend hours enjoying the outdoors. He decided to make his own beef jerky to save money and create new flavors. His samples made at home became so popular with his friends and family that he was encouraged to sell the product commercially.
The Challenge
He learned the production process but had no business experience. He needed to move out of his kitchen into a part-time rental of commercial kitchen space to produce jerky in batches to be packaged. He needed guidance to understand how to prepare, launch, and operate a profitable business.
The Results
After he implemented the Action Plan, we continued working together to develop a Business and Financial plan to meet the challenges ahead: navigating licensing requirements, food safety, packaging, shipping, marketing, etc. Developing the plan was critical to stay on the right path, but he needed startup money.
